I am not a literary genius nor do I pretend to be an expert on the English language and it’s many incredible writers. However, I do enjoy a good read and while I mostly enjoy reading books set in the modern era Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen remains one of my favorite books off all time. I don’t usually go for the classic romantic-type of stories but there is just something about the main female character’s attitude and tenacity that get’s me every single time. {I also love a “broody”, tall and handsome man so it’s no wonder that Mr Darcy and his intensity is one of my favorite elements of Pride and Prejudice}.

I love the cameraderie between the Bennet sisters and the quiet way in which the father of the household treats his family, with Mrs Bennet being a loving and caring mother but also extremely anxious about the future of her five daughters!! While Elizabeth and Mr Darcy’s love story hurts my heart (in a good way), the love story of Elizabeth’s beautiful sister Jane and Charles Bingley has such a naive and honest feel to it that you can’t help but be invested in their journey.

Pride and Prejudice is the epitome of a classic romance story where true loves conquers all (I know it seems like a cliche but I enjoy an escape from reality every once in a while).

There’s a couple of film adaptations of Pride and Prejudice but the only one I enjoyed (one of my absolute favorite movies) is the 2005 version with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen in the leads. I can watch this movie over and over again, and I will cry and laugh and smile every single time!!!
