Arielle Charnas posted an Instastory the other day about the nasty comments she received on Instagram about a headband designed for her brand, Something Navy, that resembled a Prada headband. I posted a little screenshot below of my opinion on the matter. I LOVE designer items, I love seeing the behind-the-scenes process and the artistic ability that goes into creating a stunning designer bag, shoes, etc. However, I have no problem with affordable fashion. How else will I, and millions of other fashion-lovers, ever be able to recreate the many amazing looks we see on the runways and in advertisement campaigns??

I have compiled a shopping guide on a couple of high-end designer items and where you can buy a similar, and more affordable, item. (I added the prices so that you can see the difference.)

On the left are these STUNNING Chloe boots (R 13 431.51) and on the right you can find their stunning affordable counterparts (R599.00) from Superbalist here

I love a black&gold combo! The studded Valentino bag (R22 461.48)has an affordable cousin that can be found on Zando here (R269.00)

As you know by now, I love a stunning mule/slide so I am definitely a fan of these Alberta Ferretti mules (R9 894.72). I bought myself the affordable version at Planet54 in a different colour and I am crazy about them. You can find your affordable pair here (R199.99).

This Alberta Ferretti belt (R3 443.23) is stunning but a little above my price point. Lucky for me (& you) shopbrettrobson has a very affordable double buckle belt (R160.00)

Dolce & Gabbana has amazing dresses, like the floral printed dress (R 32 227.34) at Nordstrom but I would not easily spend that much on a dress. Mr Price has a beautiful dress that resembles the expensive D&G dress. You can find this stunning Mr P dress(R 120.00) here!

I am a Chloe fan for sure and I love most of their items, like these interesting earrings (R 9 338.15) and it’s my luck that Mango has similar (& more affordable) earrings (R 399.00).

These cool Gucci sunglasses (R 16 301.47) are so trendy, just like the Fix where you can get incredible fashion pieces for so much less. You can find the trendy sunglasses (R79.99) in the right picture at the Fix.

{I hope you enjoyed this shopping guide, let me know in the comments or on social media if you like these kind of posts.}

PS: I love designer fashion, fashion week street style, runway style, etc and I know why these items are so expensive. I have seen the work that goes into it all & I respect that. I am just looking for ways to interpret these amazing things into my own life without having to sell my car for one pair of shoes 😉
